A Phoenix Rising Wellness Institute, Inc. · Instructor: Dr. Tisa Muhammad, DNM®, C.C.Ir.®
Effective September 2026

1. Purpose and Scope
This policy governs enrolment in, participation in, and completion of the Ionic Hydrotherapy Training Intensive & Certification (the “Program”) offered by A Phoenix Rising Wellness Institute, Inc. (the “School”). It applies to every student from the date of application until the credential is issued, and to graduates in respect of the credential and its renewal. By enrolling, the student agrees to this policy, the Practitioner Agreement in the course text, and the School’s general terms.

2. Program Description
-
Title: Ionic Hydrotherapy Training Intensive & Certification
-
Length: 8 weeks, 190 hours, delivered in four two-week units
-
Format: Hybrid — online lessons, reading, and knowledge drills, with a supervised practicum
-
Instructor: Dr. Tisa Muhammad, DNM®, C.C.Ir.®
-
Credential awarded: Certified Ionic Hydrotherapy Technician
-
Nature of the credential: A professional certificate issued by the School. It is not a licence to practise medicine, massage therapy, or any regulated health profession, and it does not authorize the graduate to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
3. Admission
-
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
-
Applicants apply through the School’s online application form and are accepted in writing.
-
No prior health-care qualification is required. Applicants must be able to read and write English at the level of the course materials and to participate in hands-on practical work.
-
Applicants with a physical limitation that affects participation in the practicum should contact the School before enrolling so that reasonable accommodations can be discussed.
-
The School may decline an application at its discretion and will say so in writing.
4. Tuition and Payment
Option Tuition (CAD)
Includes With Ionic Hydrotherapy Machine $997
Full Program, course materials, online drills, supervised practicum, examination, credential, and one Ionic Hydrotherapy Machine

Without machine $597

Full Program, course materials, online drills, supervised practicum, examination, and credential; the student supplies a working ionic footbath unit with its manufacturer’s manual
-
Tuition is due in full at enrolment unless a payment plan has been agreed in writing.
-
A place in the Program is confirmed only when payment (or the first agreed instalment) is received.
-
Tuition does not include a first-aid/CPR certificate, salt or basin liners beyond any starter supply, travel to in-person practicum sessions, or the manufacturer’s replacement arrays.
-
All prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes are added at checkout where required.
5. Withdrawal and Refunds
-
Cooling-off period. A student who withdraws in writing within 7 days of enrolment and before accessing any course content receives a full refund of tuition paid, less any machine that has already been shipped (see Section 6).
-
After the cooling-off period and before Week 3. A student who withdraws in writing before the start of Week 3 receives a refund of 50% of tuition paid, less the machine where applicable.
-
From Week 3 onward. No refund is issued. Tuition remaining under a payment plan stays payable.
-
Withdrawal by the School. If the School withdraws a student for the reasons in Section 12, tuition is not refunded. If the School cancels a cohort before it begins, tuition is refunded in full, including any machine returned unopened.
-
Refunds are made by the original payment method within 30 days of the written withdrawal.
-
A student who has withdrawn may re-enrol in a later cohort; previously completed units are credited for up to 12 months.
6. Ionic Hydrotherapy Machine
-
Students on the $997 option receive one Ionic Hydrotherapy Machine, shipped to the address on the application or collected from the School.
-
The machine becomes the student’s property on delivery and is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. The School will help the student contact the manufacturer but does not itself warrant the machine.
-
A machine that has been shipped or opened is non-refundable. A machine returned unopened and in original packaging within the cooling-off period is refunded less shipping.
-
Students on the $597 option must confirm before Week 3 that they have a working unit and its manual. The manufacturer’s manual for the student’s own unit governs session limits, contraindications, and maintenance wherever it is stricter than the course.
-
The School is not responsible for damage, injury, or loss arising from a unit that has been modified, used contrary to its manual, or used with a damaged cord, plug, or array.
7. Attendance and Participation
-
Online lessons may be completed on the student’s own schedule within each two-week unit. All lessons, practicals, and knowledge checks in a unit must be complete before the next unit opens.
-
Live sessions (where scheduled) are recorded; a student who misses a live session watches the recording and completes the accompanying activity.
-
The practicum requires real attendance: 20 logged supervised sessions, 4 observed sessions, and the observation and reflective journal. Practicum sessions are scheduled with the instructor and cannot be replaced by recordings.
-
A student who falls more than one unit behind will be contacted to agree a catch-up plan. A student who cannot complete within 16 weeks of the cohort start date is withdrawn and may re-enrol under Section 5.
8. Practicum Requirements and Conduct
-
Practicum sessions are delivered on classmates, volunteers, or clients under the instructor’s supervision, following the course protocols in full: intake, screening, consent, setup, continuous supervision, aftercare, documentation, and sanitation.
-
Every practicum client is screened against the absolute contraindications before every session. A student who delivers a session to a person with an absolute contraindication, or who leaves a client unsupervised during a session, fails that practicum session and may be withdrawn under Section 12.
-
Students may not charge for practicum sessions.
-
Practicum records (session records, sanitation logs, incident reports) are submitted through the course platform and are kept by the School for assessment.
-
Any incident during a practicum session — a stopped session, a fall, a skin reaction, an emergency call — is reported to the instructor the same day using the incident report form.
9. Assessment and Certification
Certification as a Certified Ionic Hydrotherapy Technician requires all of the following:
-
Completion of all 20 lessons, including practicals and knowledge checks
-
The supervised practicum, with all minimums met and every session logged
-
Instructor sign-off on all items of the competency checklist
-
Observation of 4 sessions and 8 weekly reflections
-
Submission and acceptance of the Practice Portfolio
-
A passing score of 85% on the written examination, with contraindication questions answered at 100%
-
The oral case review
-
Proof of a current first-aid/CPR certificate
-
A signed Practitioner Agreement
-
A student who does not pass the written examination may resit it once at no charge within 30 days; a second resit carries a fee of $75. Contraindication questions must be answered at 100% on any sitting.
-
A Practice Portfolio that is not accepted is returned with written feedback and may be resubmitted once within 30 days.
-
The credential is issued in the student’s legal name as a digital certificate; a printed certificate is available on request.
10. Credential Use and Renewal
-
Graduates may use the title Certified Ionic Hydrotherapy Technician and the School’s certificate in their practice and marketing, together with the scope-of-practice commitments in the Practitioner Agreement.
-
The credential is valid for 3 years. Renewal requires proof of a current first-aid/CPR certificate and completion of the School’s contraindications refresher. A renewal fee of $97 applies.
-
The credential is personal to the graduate and may not be transferred, lent, or used to certify others.
-
The School may suspend or withdraw a credential where a graduate makes diagnostic, treatment, cure, or guaranteed-outcome claims in the School’s name, delivers sessions to persons with absolute contraindications, or brings the School into disrepute. The graduate is informed in writing and may respond within 14 days before a final decision.
11. Scope of Practice and Health Claims
-
The Program trains a hydrotherapy service. Students and graduates do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, do not interpret water colour as a reading of a client’s health, and do not advise clients to start, stop, or change medication.
-
Students learn to present the debated claims about ionic footbaths — including detoxification — as positions held by proponents and critics, with sources, and never as promised outcomes.
-
“Massage therapist,” “RMT,” and similar titles are protected in Ontario and many other jurisdictions and are not conferred by this Program. Graduates describe the hands-on component as a relaxation foot or hand massage.
-
Graduates are responsible for checking and following the advertising, consumer-protection, and health-practice rules of their own jurisdiction.
12. Student Conduct and Withdrawal by the School
Students are expected to treat classmates, practicum clients, and the instructor with respect and to keep client information confidential. The School may issue a written warning, suspend practicum privileges, or withdraw a student for:
-
delivering a session in breach of an absolute contraindication or without supervision
-
making health claims to a practicum client that are outside scope
-
breaching client confidentiality
-
academic dishonesty (see Section 13)
-
harassment, discrimination, or abusive conduct toward any person connected with the Program
-
non-payment under an agreed payment plan after 14 days’ written notice
Except where a client’s safety is at risk, a student receives a written warning and an opportunity to respond before withdrawal.
13. Academic Integrity
-
Knowledge checks, the Practice Portfolio, and the examination must be the student’s own work. Portfolio forms and documents may be adapted from the School’s templates but must reflect the student’s own practice.
-
Practicum logs must record sessions that actually took place. A falsified log is grounds for withdrawal and, if discovered after certification, for withdrawal of the credential.
14. Privacy and Records
-
The School collects the student’s contact details, application, payment records, practicum records, and assessment results for the purpose of delivering the Program and issuing the credential, and keeps them for 7 years after completion.
-
Practicum client records created by students contain personal health information. Students keep them confidential, store them securely, and share them only with the instructor for assessment. Client names may be replaced by initials in the Practice Portfolio.
-
Students may request a copy of their own records, and a transcript or letter confirming completion, at any time.
15. Intellectual Property
Course materials, drills, forms, and templates are the property of the School and are licensed to the student for personal study and, after certification, for use in the graduate’s own practice. They may not be resold, redistributed, or used to deliver training to others without written permission.
16. Health, Safety, and Insurance
-
Students participating in practicum sessions as clients are screened in the same way as any client and may decline to receive a session at any time.
-
Students are responsible for their own health and for disclosing any condition that affects their safe participation.
-
Graduates who offer sessions to the public are advised to hold professional liability insurance; the School does not provide insurance cover for students’ or graduates’ practice.
17. Complaints and Appeals
-
A student who is dissatisfied with any decision under this policy, including an assessment result or a withdrawal, may write to the School within 14 days setting out the concern.
-
The School acknowledges the complaint within 5 business days and responds in writing within 20 business days. Where the complaint concerns the instructor’s own decision, it is reviewed by a second person designated by the School.
-
The School’s written response concludes the internal process.
18. Changes to This Policy
The School may update this policy. Changes apply to new enrolments from the date they are published; students already enrolled continue under the policy in force at their enrolment unless a change is to their benefit.
Student acknowledgement
I have read and understood the Course Policy for the Ionic Hydrotherapy Training Intensive & Certification, and I agree to be bound by it.
